Actually I have not been impressed by RB. Both my horse and pony's condition took a serious downhill turn when I switched them off their previous well balanced, low grain diet to RB. And the RB was more expensive for us by almost $1.70 per day.

There are many paths to Rome, I'm not saying I'm a fan of sweet feed, I'm certainly NOT but there are other feeding regimens out there that are just as balanced and good for the horses.

Peggy (And, to anyone else who feeds a RB, and stresses how it is so much better for the horses), I'm just curious......

You say it provides ALL that they don't get from other types of feeds. How many of you ACTUALLY got your horses tested BEFORE and AFTER you made the switch, to ensure that it was actually doing what they said it would? How many of you get your horses tested REGULARLY to make sure it continues to do what they say it will do??????

LMAO....THAT'S your PROOF???? I don't feed RB, and I don't have a single horse with Thrush, or Rain Rot! Now, when I was living in my other place, I was having a problem with thrush, because it just stayed so muddy and soupy there, and the horses were constantly slopping around in the mud. They couldn't get away from it. They all also have nice, shiney coats, and again, they don't get any RB.

YES, I have tried Kents, "Horse go 32". After a month on it, I saw absolutely NO difference in how they looked or acted. So, I ended that.

ETA: So, basically what you are saying is that you really don't know that the RB is doing what they say it will do.

Peggy.....I'm not knocking anyone who choses to feed an RB. I'm just saying I've tried it, didn't see any differences, so I chose NOT to feed it. If you think it's helping your horses, then like I said before....if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

RB's are fairly new to the scene. Horses have lived and thrived for hundreds of years without it. Until people who have actually tested their horses before and after, and come forward with that information enough to make a believer out of me.....I'll stick with how and what I'm already doing. I see no sound reason to change that at this point.
