Question about Helmets??

Is it true that after you take a fall with your helmet once its no good? Thats what it said in the instruction book I got with it awhile back. I thought that was interesting... what do ya'll think? I can't afford to buy another helmet everytime i fall...

I think it depends how bad the fall is, and where you fall (as in where on your body lol). Because, if you don't land on or even hit your head, then there's no point, obviously. I've never replaced my helmet because of a fall, but I've never fallen and really hit my head.

Hmmm, can't say as I've ever heard that. I would think that if you fall and crack your helmet or otherwise damage the structural integrity, then you would need to replace it.

I've fallen several times, and several times I've hit my helmet....never enough to do any damage to it, though.
