I know a horse hase 36-44 teeth and i know the vet floats teeth b/c they get sharp edges on their teeth and cant eat as good. But I want more detail on how they float and what they look for... understand? I am knowed for confusing people when i try to ask things lol

The easiest thing would be to actually CALL an equine dentist and ask him/her yourself. I could fill you in on the rough details, like what teeth are where, what can happen within a horse's mouth (waves, steps, ramps, etc.), but it's not going to beat going to the source itself.

Call your local vet office and ask for some phone numbers of some equine dentists in your area, they might even be willing to come out and show you in person what is done and why, the equipment they use, how they use it, etc.

I just googled Equine Dentistry and here are a few promising links, I just skimmed over them, but they look to have good info on equine dentistry.

I would recommend calling your horse vet or another local one and asking them if you can job shadow them for a few days. Watching a teeth floating in way better than reading about it and the majority of vets love to teach people about its importance.
Its a health issue getting their teeth done at least once a year (more for older, younger and high performance horses). Your correct on the points they develop on their teeth from the way they chew but these points also cause them to chew on their cheeks and cause absesses, my mare gets this.
