Well the debate that's on QH's for English is the same one about TWH's being used for anything other than gaited classes in the shows. When many TWH's can kick a stock horses BUTT in Contesting....people say they CANT do it... I have 2 TWH Geldings that can out run my AQHA mare in contesting with their eyes closed...

QHs are extremely versatile. I've seen some perform very well up to Medium Dressage (haven't seen any others over that but I'm sure there are) and they do very well with jumping and English showing.

Hey, I have a TWH that a friend rides that Team Pens with me. Course she doesn't liek to run(my friend) I LOVE getting on that horse and turning him loose. Just gotta be careful. NOT GOOD for turning.

There ARE some breeds that should stay away from heavy competition..such as gaited horses and cutting and such, because of their canter's are that one sided strides.....

But the QH excels in MANY MANY events. From english to Western!!! Show him the QH Journal. OVER HALF of the horses in the Journal this year are English show horses.
