After looking at it and talking to their rep, I'm fairly impressed with it. I don't like it as much as the Triple Crown 30% though, it's just not as well formulated.

I used the Grass Formula for a while and really liked it. It really packed the weight on a mare I was having trouble with. My only complaint was the price, $25 for a 50 lb bag that only lasted about 2 weeks.

You were using too much then. If it lasted 2 weeks, that means you were feeding over 3 1/2 lbs a day. Which is more than a horse in intense work requires.

Probably not. Young ones require much higher levels of nutrition. I'm not very familiar with their alfalfa formula though so can't say for sure. If it's formulated similarly to their grass though, where you are is just about right.

For a grown horse though, way too much.
