Lightbulb Pregnant Mare Syndrome

This topic is not to offend anyone. Just a general observation. I have noticed a lot of Could my mare be pregnant? Going on lately. If you suspect that your mare is pregnant, please get a vet out to instruct you, we are not vet's here. wink In light of the recent fiasco with one member, I find it very aggravating to give advice and information and then have that member disappear.
Mom's to be should be inspected by your vet as soon as you suspect a lil one hiding in there. One of the *joys* of horse ownership is the unexpected costs of vet calls.

not to make light of the subject (because you are totally right,) but by your topic I was thinking more along the lines of PMS for horses, my gelding suffers from that quite a bit. LOL!

I second or is that third?

I think the same thing, why risk the mare AND foal.

If you are excited AND/OR not... give your horse some respect and get a vet out to confirm the situation.

This has been bugging quite some time and thought that it should be addressed If I had even an inkling that my mare (should I ever buy one..LOL) was pregnant, you bet your sweet behind my vet would be called. I am glad that I am not the only one noticing the *I wanna baby* syndrome!! wink

Yes, well....I think my mare is pregnant. eek!

That would be because I bred her on purpose! hahahahaha We are looking forward to the confirmation when the doc comes in two weeks! Whee hee. This is the champagne mare I bought to breed to my **** . tobi stallion! The only problem is, I have to wait 11 mos to see the results!

Exellent post BTW. I too would not hesitate to call the doc if I bought a mare that I thought was pregers. Unless at the exact momment I asked the question, you happen to have your hand and arm in a strategic place, I do not expect you to know whether or not my mare is pregnant
