Pregnant filly??? (HELP)

Is it normal for a 2.5 year old filly to have a little filling in her udder and to have clear fluid coming out. No heat, no hardness, no pain, no cloudiness, so probably not mastitis. I have only had her since April, so I don't know if she could have been bred before (she was a rescue), but it is possible. She has had a few symptoms of heat cycles through the months, but nothing really obvious, and i hear even pregnant mares sometimes show heats.

I need opinions please.

She could be hormonal but she is a little older than the norm.

Hormonal = That is my word for over production of female hormones which will cause the udder to swell, etc.

I wonder if she was in foal and slipped. Lacey (my mare) slipped between 4-5 ms last yr. Several hours after she slipped, her udder filled just as a mare that was getting ready to produce milk.

Sure its possible. Alot of people breed them at two. I think thats way to young. I think I would be getting the vet out for a check up.

Yowsa!

I wouldn't think she would have slipped now... she is getting the best care she has ever had in her life. As skinny as she was when we got her I would have thought she would have lost it then or shortly after.

Has anyone had a case like this and the mare not be pregnant?

I would have a vet out to look at her. You would be suprised to know what a unborn foal can live through. Same goes with how easy it is to loose one.

I would get her checked by a vet...then you will know if she's pregnant, and if she is and you plan to keep her in foal you will be able to get her on a diet for mares in foal.

My mare turned 3 in May 07, she had a baby then...

When I was shopping for a horse back in March/April I saw a two year old that was for sale and she looked 6 months bred. The owner said the neighbors stud jumped the fence and got in with them. I really liked the filly and wanted her, she was a grand daughter of gay bar king, but I did not want her bred, so he had her checked, and yup she was bred.

Thanks for the opinions... but my question goes unanswered.

I know she CAN be pregnant.

Can she have liquid without being pregnant?
