Have you had a vet check this horse out yet?

Hard to do if she can't catch her. Unless they dart gun her... lol.

ACC
Thanks, ACC, for clearing that little thing up. No, no vet check. Haven't managed to catch her yet. I've got some cousins here today, and we have all day, so hopefully we'll be able to catch her.

I have found that hanging some diry shirts (that I have warn) on the fence posts helps in getting a wild one used to your smell. It has helped me in the past in getting them to trust me.
I hope you get her caught soon.
Good luck.

Nope. It's raining today, and yesterday me and my cousins tried to catch her for hours and never managed it. We tried feed, apples, carrots, we brought the other horses down to see if they could make her curious enough to come close enough to catch, and we never got anywhere near her. Every time the cows moved, she ran off.

What do you mean, layout, exactly?

When we went to get Nightmare, her owner was in South Carolina. We couldn't get anywhere near her and my uncle somehow got the trailer stuck in the mud. We left the trailer there and waited for the owner, Larry to get back from SC a week later. After Larry got back he caught Nightmare, how I don't know, we didn't know he'd came back a day early, and brought her to my uncles house. That's all I know.

Why hasnt more of an effort been made to deal with her weight? Preggers or not, she is too skinny. Why hasnt your uncle tried working with her so she can be caught?

I know you said you rescued her, but if your family wasnt willing to put the work in for a rescue, then they never should have gotten her.

Hopefully, something can be done, before she does foal.

Don't ask me, I don't know. My uncle isn't very horsey at all, he likes to look at them, but not riding and/or playing with them (horses).

Why is someone who is 'not horsey' think they have any business rescuing a horse? Is he even willing to do anything about the situation if you can catch her? As is, she and the foal are both at serious risk. Even if she came to him in not great condition, his care (or lack thereof) is at the best neglect and at the worst abuse.
