Pre Purchase Exam

We recently had a pre purchase done on a horse that we inevidabley walked away from. Just ended up having to many issues to deal with. My question is, is the vet who does it not suppose to send a report to you afterwards? I've never recieved anything from our vet except a hefty bill!! We also had blood work done and I've never recieved any results to date. Is this a common practise if the vet knows your just gonna walk, or should they send the information irregardless of the circumstances.

I think that if you paid for it then you should be getting a copy of everything.... otherwise what did he actually "do" ??? I would refuse to pay the bill until I received the paperwork.

That's just it, I've contacted the vet clinic and they claim the vet that did the pre purchase never provided them with a copy of any documentation. The vet also knew that I was not intenting on purchasing the horse do to some serious health issues, so I'm wondering if that is why nothing was forwarded. Still with that being said I'm not paying for no paperwork.

Contact the clinic again and don't let them get away with the "vet didn't tell us" excuse. They should contact the vet and get the information.

I have never had a horse vet who was willing to put anything in writing, seems like they are afraid of ? malpractice?

I would think, even if they are afraid to put some things in writing, that the bloodwork results should be given. They would be coming from an independent source.

I agree with all of the above, no paperwork, no payment.
