The vet double checked and she is deffinitely pregnant

And the previous owners ARE being charged so hopefully they will get some harsh punishments for their actions!
Glad to hear the previous owners are being charged. The word of that getting around may be enough to prevent other irresponsible owners from breeding an animal of that age. Let's hope so!

Please keep us updated on the mare and her pregnancy and when she foals. Also, let us know the outcome of the court case against the previous owners.

I adopted a very neglected mini mare who turned out to be pregnant. She had a textbook delivery and baby is still with me 20 months later. Mamma is not, the neglect finally caught up to her June '07. But she was fine with the pregnancy and the delivery.

Diamond doesn't look to be in a horrible horrible state. Don't give up hope on the delivery yet. She could very well have an easy delivery.

Maybe! I can't get more pics till this Saturday (sorry!!). I left my camera up there and I don't go back to the rescue till this week.

I will let everyone knows how she is doing. The last update I got, (yesterday), she is eating fine, she's getting her meds, but she stands and wobbles from side to side most of the day... She weaves... But she was abused/neglected so that doesn't surprise me. If I hear anything else I will post it ASAP!

The other horses that came in with her are doing pretty good. The stallions were gelded, and the mares are doing amazing. It's just Diamond we're worried about!

Keep prayin!

New Diamond Picture

Here is another picture I found of Diamond. Sorry it is a little blurry. She was weaving a lot. I petted her to try and get her to calm down, but she just kept weaving.

She is also in the indoor. It's really cold and muddy outside, and with her baby she needs to be comfortable.

Poor old girl.
Does she have another horse in with her? I found weavers do best when they have a buddy. And that girly needs to bet kept as calm as possible. I've had three weavers. The only ways I found to keep them from weaving is turning them out with a buddy and giving them LOTS of hay to munch on.

Yeah she has a white adult mare w/ beautiful blue eyes named Havie in there with her. They are really good friends. Havie follows her around and really helps her feel safe and comfortable. They are like best friends. They were eating hay together it was very cute. She has hay available and she is eating more than she did Saturday. So she may be getting better I guess. Only time will tell!
