Posting... correct diagonal, or not?

I always thought, when posting, we had to rise with the horse's INSIDE FRONT LEG... but this trainer at a a clinic on Saturday told me to rise with the OUTSIDE FRONT LEG.... if this sounds stupid, sorry. But does anyone know about posting on the correct diagonal?

"Rise and fall with the leg on the wall" Sounds cheesy, but it's right!

Yes, you always rise and fall with the leg on the rail/wall... if you're off the diagonal sit 2 beats then rise and you SHOULD be on the correct diagonal!
