Post your favorite colored warmblood stallions!

I had a talk with my trainer today, and she suggested breeding my mare to a warmblood stallion. Supposedly the ArabxWB market is quite good right now. This would be a 2007 or a 2008 breeding if I were to do it, so right now I'm just looking around and seeing what's out there!

If I breed her to a warmblood, I'd like something reasonably tall... between 15.2h and 16.2hh (yes, to me that is tall). Nice back, good, strong hip and the legs need to be perfect or near perfect (not because my mare is weak there but because I'm a leg gal). Good uphill movement is important, and the stallion needs to be nice and balanced overall. What I'm going for in the foal is a dressage prospect. Jumping ability isn't too important to me but would be considered a plus.

Color too, please! Conformation comes FIRST but for this baby, who will (hypothetically) be a sale foal, I'd like to have a bit of color as well. Just a little spark to make him/her more marketable. If I can't find something good enough with color (hopefully homozygous) then I'll go solid, no biggie. I was thinking either a pinto or perhaps a perlino if I can find one.

Thanks! Thought this might be a fun thread for those of you who love to hunt up stallions!

I don't know much about Warmbloods, but I like this guy. A lady I know bred one of her mares to him, had the foal last year... nice bay pinto colt. She sold him right away.

State of the Art, still at Silverwood, is homozygous pinto, so you'd be guaranteed spots there. Even if you went with Art Deco, who isn't homozygous, and get a solid foal, his name alone is often enough to sell the solid ones quickly. Spectrum and Hall of Fame have produced some very very nice foals, but aren't homozygous.

If you want to have a registerable foal, you will have to have your mare inspected and approved by the appropriate registry, and I'd get that done this year if at all possible. It's much better, and carries a LOT more peace of mind, if you go into a breeding knowing the foal will be able to be registered, so that if something happens to the mare and you can't present her after the foal is born, at least you'll have that piece of the puzzle out of the way.

No matter who I use, the foal will be registerable as a half-Arabian. I know absolutely nothing about the warmblood inspections, though...

I was looking at Hall of Fame last night. He's my favorite of the Silverwood stallions... But looking through their on-farm foals back to 2000, he hasn't been used much and I wondered why. Seems like he had half solid and half colored babies when they DID use him... I forget the exact numbers.

They have Sempatico, who is homozygous, but man... I just don't like him at all. There's something in the back of my mind about the temperment of the Art Deco foals. Just a rumor I've heard... I'll have to give him another look, thanks! You're right, his name alone would be good for selling babies unless the foal is absolute trash (and hopefully this one wouldn't be).

I like Milky Way... but am I imagining things or do those feet look really odd in the last two pictures? There's not much information on him on their website and I'd really like to see him moving.

For WB's I am sure this is true, but either way the foal will be registerable since it will be out of a reg'd Arab mare (so it will be a reg'd half Arab). I do agree though about getting the mare approved.....great to reg with more associations!!!!

I'm reading up on the rules and regulations. If I take Page, I'll be taking Allure as well... just need to figure out exactly how it all works and where the closest one is!
