Have you posted a notice up at a local feed store that you are looking for a beginner horse?

I really have not liked anything you have posted. I know that the first horse is out but I do want to point something out. I always google the horses name or try to find more information on any horse listed for sale. I went to website provided for the first horse... Did you see this?

Abbie is an 8 year old, 14.2 hand, Appaloosa pony. She is well trained western and also goes nicely English, and has an easy neck rein. Enjoys doing pole bending and barrels, and would be perfect for a child wanting to do gymkhana and play day shows. No vices in the barn and is easy to catch and tack up.Also loves to jump. She is a nice well rounded pony for any family. Forward yet responsive to aids. Good for an intermediate rider that wants to have fun. $1400obo
Are you intermediate rider?

That is why IMHO it is really important to read up as much as possible on any horse. I am not knocking the OP but just trying to give her some ideas on ways to do research. Often horse sellers do not always tell the whole story. Unfortunately. IMHO the OP would be better off taking lessons somewhere and getting a chance to ride many different horses so she can learn that not all horses are them same but sometimes learning how to make each one go will be more rewarding than just having one horse.

I honestly feel blessed that I grew up not having just one horse. I had ranch horses I rode for my brother and polo ponies I rode for him and his friends and then I took lessons in English. The more different horses you ride the more you will learn... as you get better what you want in a horse will change.

hmmm... finding a good beginner horse is always difficult. EVERYONE claims their horse is a beginner horse when they're trying to sell it (well, not everyone, but they never point out flaws).
If you are seriously interested I would say bring out a trainer/lesson instructor/experienced rider. She's has a slightly short gate, which I would normally consider to be a flaw in training somewhere, but I can't be sure of any factors that may be causing it.
If you are a BEGINNER I would say go with something 15-20 in good health. Something who's forgiving and been there done that. There's no such thing as bombproof but normally a good old quarter horse comes close

THIS is my type of beginners horse, my sister was riding a horse who was 17 and he lived to be 28 (with care) and she rode him almost to the day he died!
