| Senior Member+ | Possible broodmare purchase. What do you think? QH
I am possibly trading my APHA mare for a bred mare. I have a couple of offers. I have pictures of one, but the other I have yet to get photos of. Mare 1: Bold Lady Goldsinger : http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/bold+lady+goldsinger I like that has some Skipper W bloodlines, but she is also appendix and I think you can see it in her video. She is very pretty and the photograph I have of her really makes her look nice. I asked for some conformation shots and I will post them when I get them. What do you think of her breeding and of her from the video? I would really love to do some reining (just local shows) and get back into team penning . I have to say that her color is screaming at me, especially with the face white on the pally, but I want something of an equal value to the mare I am trading conformationally/breeding-wise. I have to say that this photo makes her look goooood. There is a photo of her on the all breed site that makes her hip look crappy, but the photo also has the look of a photo that has been shrunk and is distorted. Her video: The video makes her look much thinner overall, especially about her neck. I think you can see the TB influence more in the vid, but I also think the video isn't very good either. I know I really really need a confo picture but right now I just want a general opinion. I WILL be updating this thread with photos, etc. soon. She comes with a breeding to their buttermilk buckskin stallion. I do not know his name or have pictures of him, but I asked for those as well. Apparently she says he has silver in his mane/tail as well... Mare 2: Supreme Princess Rose. She is a loud chestnut overo with two blue eyes. I will post her pedigree when I get pictures of her. She is in foal to BW Snapshot, a black tobiano stallion. Also am getting photos of him. Not sure I am impressed with his pedigree though... She is due this summer. This is the mare I am trading, No Clear Concept, a 1991 overo APHA mare. She has 3 amatuer points, 2 in hunt seat eq. and one in HUS. Nice mare but she is too laid back and slow. I want something that will go and is more of a challenge. |

I think that the palomino mare is cute. It's hard to evaluate without confo shots, but for local reining and team penning it looks like she would be great. She's got a lot of impulsion in her trot, and I guarantee she's going to be somewhat bouncy. Also she needs some work on collection. ETA..I like the Supreme Princess Rose's pedigree alot better.I would think that she would potentially be the better horse.I agree on the "Bw Snapshots" pedigree not being great though. She's a lot better bred than he is. I cant tell much about the second horse, but for the palomino...the appendix registration doesnt bother me, but the thoroughbred influence for what you are wanting to do might be a problem. She may produce foals that are too tall throwinng off their center of gravity for the eveents, just a thought, but it would be nice to see more on the second horse and more on your horse to decide value/better choice, but it does seem to me you are pretty set on the palomino. |
