I was just wondering if anyone knows where you can get a good portable paddock for when we go camping. I am looking for a non-electric fence. Possible plastic round pen panels or PVC panels. Someone suggested building my own out of pvc pipes, but I think that will be a last resort. My tack store has a plastic (yes plastic!) round pen out front. I looked at it and thought, "That'd be perfect!" But, where did they get one? Does anyone know?

I have never seen a portable paddock that was not electrified or metal. I bet the tack store could help you with finding the plastic type they have.

I have seen a couple different types of kits, and one that I have used a lot before. This one is very nice and we have never had a problem with it: http://www.horse.com/products/gift-0__sku-BXA21.html Here is the one that you are probably thinking of, I have seen horses push out of this one: http://www.horse.com/products/gift-0__sku-BXA10.html I know the guy that makes these, they are nice as they attach right to your trailer: http://www.northbankproducts.com/corrals.htm

I have 2 sets (of 6) portable panels; they are metal and I thinkare about 6 ft long and 5 ft tall yeach. Pretty lightweight and they have slots that latch together with drop in pegs. Its pretty weighty to transport but safe. A friend of mine usually pounds some rebar into the ground first and then places the panels over it so the horses cant push out of it; I haven't had the time to do that yet. I got mine at a place called Paul Taylor but I hear that Tractor Supply sometimes has the portable panels.
