Poker,A Days End Rescue

Ive recently adopted a horse names "Poker" or Ruffalin is her show name. From Days End Horse Rescue. If you havent heard of them check them out. They are great people to work with and make sure you and the horse are bonded before they send them off with you.
Anyway Poker is a 6 year old OTTB,who i fell in love with she came to Days end on the scale of 1 on to 10 as 1 as the worst.You could see her ribs she had a horrible case of rain rot,she needed her teeth done,her hoofes where over grown.
Poker has alot to teach me and i have alot to teach her. It's a long road ahead but it's one i cannot wait for!

She is lovely. So sad to hear of horses that are considered so valuable at the start of race training and then used and discarded as worthless after so little time at the track. The OTTB is a very valuable horse! Usually bred to the hilt and gorgeous, they are multi-talented and can do much more than run in a circle fast. They just need someone to be patient with them and give them a chance. Bless you for adopting one of these magnificent creatures. Congratulations to you both.

She's gorgeous! Day End does wonderful things, I like them a lot, good people.

Did they ever find a bigger place? I know they were looking, but I never heard anythin else.

Yeah they did! They have over about 100+ acres now and they are building another barn
