Poisonous Plants

There is mayapple growing in my meadow. Also known as MANDRAKE.

All parts of the plant are toxic. It is a native plant in my woodland area. I noticed some pop up in her paddock last year and i immediately used weed killer on them. This year the meadow is full of them. I pick them constantly and fortunately she selectively grazes. She seems to know they are bad for her.

What are other plants that are toxic to horses? How can we help our animals avoid plants that are dangerous to them?

yikes!!!!

um buttercups are slightly poisonous, but usually ok in small quantities when dried(in hay)

yew: deadly even before it is swallowed from what i've heard.

deadly nightshade

some varieties of mushrooms.... they thrive in manure.

man theres lots.... but theres also lots of random ones that horses like to eat even though they seem weird for instance:
dandylion, blackberry prickles, canadian thistle(my mare always eats the purple flowers)

and too much clover can be bad b/c it is really rich.... simalar to fresh alfalfa.
