Color me innocent
Then color me bad

Color me mysterious
Color me plain
Color me sunshine
Then color me rain

Color me an adult
Color me toddler
Color me kid
Then color me teenager

But color me red, green,
purple, then blue
To orange and yellow,
and to a different hue.

Color me changing

Junior High
Being a teen isn't that easy
with grades to keep up, you just can't get sleazy.

Skinny jeans are here, better keep in style
even though some fashions only stay awhile

When a shot's been made, the crowd must go boom
But when visitors win, we all get gloom.

Words of advice, try not to get caught
when a phone rings loud and it's not your fault.

And finish your homework, don't get lazy
'cause when the report cards come, parents get crazy.

But that's just junior high, wait 'til next year
When 8th becomes 9th, what their siblings will hear!

Life is like a Road
Life is like a road
in which you might travel.
When you go through this journey
the qualities you unravel.

And you walk through a town
that's all about education.
And you follow your life
up to high school graduation.

Then you come to a choice.
You have to pick a college.
That's where the road forks,
pick the one with best knowledge.

Next you pass a sign
spelling "just married"
and look forward to the baby
you or your spouse has carried.

Oh, a day of great joy
when your baby boy was born.
And you'll cherish that one day
when Michael first ate popcorn.

The next five years were great
and all the new children that came.
And the man of the house got promoted,
taking you a step up in the game.

But now the road gets narrow.
The going gets tough.
And as the baby birds fly from the next,
you find living alone is not easy, it's tough.

You have always loved your family.
So for the journey, they get you a horse.
And when the road reaches a dead end
they'll hold your hand, of course.

Love them! Your a very great writer. You can weave amazing amounts of symbolism into your words. A gift only a true writer has an many still struggle to posses. Keep up the good work and never stop writing!!

I really love the first one. At first glance it seems just like a fun poem. But I get what your saying. Everyone who influences you is 'coloring' you or shaping you as a person. They can shape you so many different ways but in the end they can't completely control who you are and who are going to be because your always changing.
