Please critique confo & possible breed

We have had my daughters pony, Sweetie, for about 3 years. Kimberly can do anything with this pony, it is amazing the bond that they have (even my non-horsey hubby sees it!). We think she is 6 this year. Kimberly and I got her started, she had been saddled and bridled once before we got her. Kimberly can ride her in just a rope halter and a lead, (Kim prefers to ride bareback or with a bareback pad, doesn't like ridding in a saddle) and we took our 1st trip down to the beach (river) two weeks ago and she was amazing. We can trail ride for hours and this pony never gets winded, she must have alot of lung capacity. Kim has ridden her carrying a flag (just for fun) and tarps/plastic don't bother her at all. She is absolutely perfect in the eyes of my 11 year old daughter!!

I see that her shoulder is pretty upright, and I don't know what to think of the bump at the end of her back, I've heard it referred to as a "hunter's bump", but don't know what that means. In the hind shot her left leg looks funny, she kept trying to rest that foot, she was tired/bored)I think she has a cute head and eye. We also are unsure of her breeding, I am thinking arab in there somewhere because of the upright head and flagging tail when she trots and is excited (but other breed probably do that too!) Any ideas as to her breed would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Alexa

She is cute, her front toes looks kinda long. When is the last time she saw a farrier? She does have a sweet face. She looks narrow based to me, which is usually typical in an Arab. She looks quite out of shape tho, from the left side shot, and fat. Her neck is kinda skinny, but it could be just because she is out of shape. but idk. She looks sweet tho!!!!!!

What Bump? The bump I see is the pelvic bone. You see it prominent in her because of her steep, short croup.

Her back is longer than I would like to see, she is toed out in the back,

The way her neck ties into her body, just doesnt' look right. Low on top, high on bottom.

FYI, her feet need a farrier and the farrier needs to be sure to take the angles to the body.......she's too shallow in her angles on her feet from what I'm seeing.

Anyways....Honestly? I don't see any real reason to breed her conformationally. I see too many negatives in my eyes.

As for breed, My first guess, looking at her fine bones and such, I'd guess an Anglo Arabian (TB/Arab)

can you explain the shallow angle, does she need more heel and less toe?
Thanks

BW - I think the thread title misled you (it did that to me too) I don't think she's interested in breeding the mare, but even if she was, I'm in agreement with you on the subject.
4horsemom - she's a dandy little pony. Personally, I don't think her shoulder is that steep. She also does not have a hunters bump - her rump looks just fine to me. I have seen many hunters bumps, and they are much more pointed than that. She looks like a great little all-arounder - a little jumping and maybe some open Western pleasure would certainly not be out of the question if you ever wanted to show her - just see what she has a talent for. Glad to hear she has such a great temperment. It sounds like she and your daughter have the kind of relationship every kid dreams of having with their pony.

Not interested in breeding her. We just don't know what breed she is and wanted an educated guess as to what you all thought. She is a little thing at 13.3 hands!

She sounds simply perfect for your little daugher. She reminds me of Diamond. Diamond is a grey and I baught her when I was 11 and I could do anything. Its so nice to see kids and horses bonding.

Sounds like a happy match

Didn't think you were going to breed her. I think we're all just a little on edge what with the crazy breeding threads lately, lol. You seem like a responsible owner and I think you made a wise decision in purchasing this pony. As far as her breeding, I see a little arab, especially in her legs, mixed with something else, quite possibly quarter horse...

I've been in too many.....Want to breed her .....threads, didn't realize it. Sorry.

But hey, you ahve my opinion on it for the future. LOL

Now that I see she's 13.3, I'd say quarter/Arabian probably......
