The auction up in Montana is the same way,The feedlot horses all look like that, some are on three legs, most of them go to the slaughter house, which sad to say is better then, starving to death. However, there are still some that the slaughter house wont even buy, how sad is that. Sometimes the auction house would not put a horse thru because they cant even walk, they have the vet euthenise it. But at the same time that auction has beautiful horses.
One day they have the catalog horses the next day they have the feedlot horses which are usually cramped in pens.
This was my first auction experience and it made me cry that some people just have no use for a horse anymore so they send it to an auction. most of these horses at one time or another had a job or was a childs horse.
Im so glad you guys were able to save one horse
