Just goes to show the arrogance of someone bringing this horse into public.
The arrogance which allows this poor horse to get in the manor it is.

So what are you suggesting? Should the owner have shot it instead?

I am outraged that the Georgia Department of Agriculture agent that was or should have been on duty at the auction should have taken some action on behalf of this horse. The owner selling this horse should have to be held accountable for his cruelty and neglect.

I just saw this and want to say I used to go to that auction, no longer. I watched many a Sat. night as some in worse condition than this were brought in, walked or rode through. There is not much they will not send through.

I asked the vet that was there one night why was she letting one go through when it should be reported, she said " simply because I hope it will end up in a better home " . I've posted this before , so........ it is no surprise to me.

I had to stop from going there because it stressed me out so badly. I'm glad for the mare in this case, some are not so lucky.

I've got a question...are these just "regular" horse auctions that they hold monthly at places? I have never been to a sale/auction and I was curious as to find out if I attended a "regular" advertised auction if this is some of what I would see...it's heartbreaking, but I would like to go to one once we move and get settled and get another rescue. Whether he/she is sound to ride, breed, etc. is not important-I just want that rewarding feeling you get when you save a horse from a horrible condition.

I know some of you follow her blog:

Anyway she is doing fantastic, steadily gaining weight and looking so much better.
Check out the pictures on her blog.
Thanks again for all the support and well wishes.

WOW! AMAZING! She looks COMPLETELY different already! Since the beginning I have been waiting to hear how she has progressed...she truly is a beautiful horse and has such a thoughtful, wonderful owner for saving her life.
Hope my initial donation helped *SOME*!
