| Senior Member+ | Pictures of Mocha's pastern laceration *Month 2? A BIT GRAPHIC*
I can't even remember how long its been since she intially hurt herself, seems like forever. December 4th was when I got the call and she was taken to the vet clinic, December 28th was when she was moved to the new barn, so... Almost 2 months I guess. Middle of December: ![]() Tonight: ![]() ![]() It's pretty hard to see exactly the difference since the new shots are taken closer up but where the bottom of that pink skin is, is where the bottom of the wound was in the first picture. We're coming along, that's for sure. It's getting harder to be able to tell what is skin and what is the tissue these days. All of our deep crevices where the rope hit tendon are completely filled in and the artery side (the right side) has shrunk up nicely. I'm happy. Using the topagen has made a huge difference, its made the skin on the bottom just start flying upwards. We'll probably be switching back to the dermabase cream soon just to shake things up a little and get it going again if it stalls. Still looks yuck though. But 100% better than what it did to begin with that's for sure.

Thanks Jess and Nicole! I just can't wait until that skin comes together...I'll be doing a happy dance in the barn aisle. I might get some freaked out boarders backing away slowly from me, but that's just fine with me. LOL

| Senior Member+ | My unlucky little girl got tangled in a section of slacked poly rope electric fence back in the beginning of December. Severed artery, some tendon laceration but nothing major, just a big mess. Its SO much better now than what it was to begin with. There's a few threads about it from before.

| Senior Member+ | LOL That's very true. I'm sure Kayla (RisingStar) and my BO will be right there with me.
