Picture of My Leg *Big Picture and Slightly Icky!*

I warned you guys. I tried to get the best angle I could, so sorry if it's pretty weird looking angle. And sorry about the undies
But we're all mature.

The bottom bruise is where the femur is actually cracked. The full bruising hasn't shown up yet and is bruised pretty deep.
My whole thigh is swollen now, if you can't tell that.

The upper bruise actually happened this morning. My lower hip had been bothering me all night and I woke up with that bruise. I still need to have it looked at. It isn't bothering me anymore though.
Like I said, yesterday when I got kicked, that upper bruise WAS NOT there. Nor was it last night.
Adam rolled over and goes "Wooo...where'd that baby come from?"

Stopped taking Vicodin because it makes me LOOPY. So I'm just taking Advil and suffering. I need to drive also, so no narcotics for me (thanks Ches for the reality check)

I'll keep you guys updated. Bruises are so cool when they go through the healing process hah.

I actually think it looks pretty good. There are so many blood vessels and veins in your thigh. It would be next to impossible to have cracked a femur and not had any brusing or swelling... It seems you got off quite well with the bruising. I have seen purple clear around the whole thigh without any normal flesh color before in a femur break...

Yeah I'm in a decent amount of pain, but I also have been perscribed to darvocet for my kidney flare ups, and I'm clear to drive on those. They just make me sick to my stomach. I've been taking that and advil.

Long story short on what happened: I was working a horse for a woman, I am basically retraining her. The old mare I sold last summer shares a pasture with this horse, and she was tied to the fence. So I decided to give Cali, the horse I was working with, a break and take Fancy out. Well, she decided I was in her bubble and layed into me with back hooves.
Cracked my femur and gave me, obviously, some pretty colorful bruising.

The swelling is still pretty prominant, and I expect the bruising to continue to get gradually worse before even considering getting better. I have a deep bruise not showing on the outside, which is where part of that swelling is coming from.

I'm going to go in tomorrow (didn't make it today, bad Brandi!) and see if I can get some form of brace. I want to keep flexing that muscle, and when I do it all but knocks me on the butt from the pain. Maybe see if I can get some relaxers? I dunno, but the Vicodin just ISN'T working for me. I HATE feeling loopy and out of it like that. The pain I can handle over feeling like I have some control loss.
