iheartcloudnine, I apologize if you thought I was lecturing you. Maybe I should have been more clear. I pointed out shorts because it would hurt me to wear shorts and ride bareback. I pointed out the no saddle because I know I couldn't jump safely (balance wise) without a saddle and some stirrups. I pointed out the helmet because I'm an EMT and my boyfriend is in his last year of med school and I hear the helmet lecture all the time, and see the results of not wearing one during activities all too often. Really, there's not ever a time that a helmet can hurt you. Your attire is totally up to you, but like others have said, I was simply expressing my concern for your safety, and I do not believe I did so in an inappropriate way, nor do I believe I was lecturing you. However, I apologize if you took it as such. Overall, I'm very impressed that you have the skill and guts to jump bareback. I know I wouldn't. It's always easy to misconstrue the way people mean to be taken on the internet. Next time, maybe just take a breather and ask through a PM what was really meant, or take it with a grain of salt...it's just a forum.

This is the photo that was removed. Putting it in here so people won't be confused when they read the replies to it.
Why would they be confused? Would they be confused about the lectures I got about the danger I am putting myself in? Would they be confused why I was offended? I am confused what people would be confused about.

I re-posted the picture in the first post because I didn't realize it would be breaking a rule/insulting/offensive, and if I knew that I wouldn't have removed it in the first place. Please, don't critique the picture anymore, though. I didn't realize it would bring on safety lectures (and I am not trying to be rude when I say 'safety lecture,' but expressing your concerns about my safety is a lecture...so I more mean it in a proper term? I think...hah).

That's the reason I am confused. Nobody was trying to put you down in any way, they were only looking out for your well-being... you should be thankful for their concerns. Just because they are saying a helment would be a good thing to wear (which I believe is true as well), doesn't mean you have to even take the slightest consideration of it. You post pictures for critique, people are going to post what they see. Did you even read any of the good comments that were posted about your position and your ambition? Focus on the entire picture, and you'll realize that nobody was trying to put you down in any way... they were only expressing their worries.

Good luck with your horse!

It was not you I was offended by really and I would go rearrange who I quoted and where I quoted them, but I don't want to abuse the rights of editing again. I more meant the long post to be directed at anyone who wanted to give me the safety lecture, because I have heard it so many times. I should have PM'd you and asked for clarification - sorry that I did not. I just am so used to getting lectured, I assumed it was just coming for me. Next time I will know that, though. I might just be getting kicked off the board now, though. Guess I shall wait and see. (that smiley says "roll eyes," but I am using it as a relaxed "wait and see" kind of face...hah).

- - To answer your question, I was originally offended by a certain forumers' post. I think I will just PM that person, though, instead of posting their name pubically. I do have my reasons for being offended, though. I did read through some of the positive things people had to say about me just a minute ago and I wanted to say thank you . I have been working on those other things and now that I look at this picture, it's not the best for critiquing. Mainly because, I normally do not jump ahead, but she rounds her back an incredible amount and it makes a rough landing - if I jump ahead, though, I obviouisly get ahead of the motion and somehow it balances out that rough landing.

WB! Hey! Lol, we haven't chatted in a while. :P It's going pretty good, family life is a bit erm, not the best right now, but overall good. Ponies are better than ever, hehe, I couldn't be more happy with them. We are getting hay today as well, and it's really, really NICE. Nothing makes me more happy than yummy bales of good hay!

How about you, Bay, WashingtonBoy, Bad Pony, and I always forget the other ones name...starts with a C, right?...I'm trying to think. xD

When a member starts a thread and then deletes the original post, it makes the entire thread useless and impossible to follow.

Since the OP has decided that she no longer wants a critique of her and her horse, I will close, this time. In the future, be sure to be ready for any and all opinions when you post a thread in critique.
