PICS of my first time braiding a mane!!!

So the dressage trainer at my barn hired ME (of all people) to thin and braid her Welsh pony's mane for an upcoming Keuring. Well, I've thinned plenty of manes, so that's no problem...but I've NEVER EVER in my life braided. Until a few weeks ago, I didn't even have a clue.

Tonight was the night before the Keuring, so I finished thinning some parts of her mane...went to Wal-Mart and bought gel and hair spray and yarn and all that good stuff. Got back to the barn, and the pony's owner is BATHING her!!! I've read that it's best to wash the mane a few days in advance so that it's not so slick for braiding.... . So, as soon as the mare was dry enough, I started. 3 hours later, I finished the task...and I was pretty satisfied.....I thought it was pretty good, for a first-timer....

You guys tell me what you think!

Do you think she'll be pleased when she loads up her pony in the morning? Did I earn my money?

What an adorable pony!! Looks great Sarah-- I think she will be super happy. Did you put something on him so he can't rub them out?

She's a pretty good little pony (fat too...LOL)...she got LOTS AND LOTS of hay tonight to keep her occupied, and I took pantyhose and cut them down one side and rubber banded them onto all the braids so that if she lays down tonight, her owner won't have to spend an hour picking shavings out of the braids. I just hope they stay in!

They look magnificent! I really love little button braids. Very nice pictures too of the horse, because she is grey she is silhouetted. I really like the one from the front.
