Okay, you told me you had his blm papers earlier. Now you're telling me you don't. That's a big difference. It is possible that he had a previous owner was seized and went back through for adoption. But you should have been made aware of that if it were the case. That does happen at times. But again, it would be made public. Unless that was the case with all of these horses (which would be highly unusual but still) and it was a preowned adoption. What kind of fencing do you have on your corral? The adoption site that we 'used' to have close to here had preowned horses come through from time to time. They always adopted for much higher prices around $600. Because of the simple fact that they had had limited work done with them.

What a beauty - he looks so sweet - I do like the names suggested by others - Chance and Boomer.

Again, you've got yourself a winner.

Dawn, I said I have all his health records including shots, worming, coggins, etc... I do not have ownership papers because, as you know, he's not mine right now. He belongs to the U.S. government. That's what I mean by papers. Just general info. on where he came from, health records, etc...
The fencing is just over 6 ft. tall & has 4x4s about every 6 ft. apart. It's not barbed wire & it's not tightly stretched metal wire. It's some kind of galvanized panels, but not cattle panels. Does that make sense? It has no sharp points sticking out & is very smooth & thick. I can't remember the name of the stuff we used, but it's very safe, I assure you. I will take & post pics when we're through with it. I'm not too good at describing things like that.

unless you were intentionally looking for a mustang to adopt from the BLM, does it matter at all if he really is from there??? Do you like him? Are you happy with what you paid etc? If so don't stress about it, enjoy him

I think he is gorgeous!! Regardless of where he came from or his official genetics he is a pretty boy and if you're happy with him then I'm really happy for you! I love to see horses that are basically worthless to many people be bought cheap and turned into great companions, that is worth alot more than $25 LOL

To answer your question on the other thread, I would not turn him out with other horses until he is thoroughly gentle, reliable to catch, etc... I wouldnt' turn him out of that enclosure until then either.

The reason it matters is that if he was not legally sellable, she could be in a lot of legal cr/ap.

Thank you Sher! I will do everything in my power to make sure he has the best, safest home possible. That's all that matters to me. Not where he came from or who had him before me, just that he's healthy & happy, & yes, I'm very happy with him!
