Pics of her first state 4H show

Well, my daughter did the Montana state 4H horse show about 2 weeks ago and I finally have pics uploaded.
This was our first big show (3rd show total) so it was a learning experience for all of us. Dolly learned about stall life for the weekend She wasn't really convinced that it was the life for her, since she's lived in a 25 acre pasture all her 2 1/2 years of life! I learned about being a show mom and the work it takes! And I only have 1 child and 1 horse to take there. I have a new respect for moms who do this as part of life! Kalyn learned about cleaning stalls, nitpicky grooming, keeping everything organized and biased judges. She loved every minute of it and asked me on the way home if she could start showing regularily next spring. Yippee! Once again, I get to live vicariously through my daughter!!

Here are some pics - click to enlarge them

Here is pre-show touch ups.

Bareback Equ on her 2 year old. They took 2nd out of 27!

This is after green horse level 1. They took 8th out of 11. This is the class that we learned about biased judges hahahaha
This is the only pic I got because I was videoing.

She also got 7th in colt to maturity. She isn't in that program, because Dolly was a yearling when she bought her, but they let her cross over since Dolly is a 2 yo
I didn't get any pics in that class either because of the videoing. I just realized I didn't get a ribbon pic of her after that class either duh me! Too much to think about - but all in all, a fabulous weekend. The weather was even wonderful.

Well knowing that your daughter had fun, the horse behaved, and you felt happy makes it all worth it!

I hope that you can do it again and enjoy it just as much.

Tell you daughter she looks good and DID good.

Aww... your daughter and her horse look like they're having a good time! Congrats to them!
(I have to say though, that watching her ride an appy in black pants made me cringe!) It seemed like I would make that mistake alot in my trickriding outfits and have a nasty hairy sweaty area on my backside. Cute. hehe.
