Pics of cattle gathering and others

Well yesterday I decided it was time to get the cows out of my horse pasture, so a friend of mine and I diceded to take TJ and JJ out and see how they do with cows, I have had TJ around calves and she did great but I didnt know how she would do with angry mama's coming after her....lol
THey both did great, we got all the cows out in one sweep, and out the first gate we tried using, well all but one cow and calf, but we got her out just as easy.
Then we let the horses rest a bit and later took them out to the flat and messed around with make shift barrels and a keyhole pattern I spray painted in the field, TJ started being a but for my friend so we had to swap horses for awhile, TJ needed a tune up on how to be good, and for some reason Im the only one that can get through to her and make her listen!
then after playing around it was a trail lesson time, so we took them to the back side of the property, took them up some hills and through some bushes, they both did great, I was really worried about Tj because she dosent like carrying a ride down hills, but she took it all in great stride, then we took them to our landing were we are doing our logging and made them walk through all the fallen trees, my Bf was up there with one of his friends talking and he told me to see if my new horse was worth a dang, he told me to go grab his chainsaw (and its not a little one, some of you have seen it) off of a stump and pack it over and put it in the back of the truck, so we did!!! JJ did great, even with our friends dog in the back of the truck trying to bite her the whole time!! I was so proud of her!!
then we decided we were going to trail ride around the property, well that ride got cut short, we got about 100 yards into it and ran into a ratle snake, and I mean ran into it....JJ walked right over the top of it, we didnt see it until it jump out from under her, and started shaking its tail, neither of the horses spooked, me and my friend came unglued, I jumped off of JJ and gave her to Kylie and told her to move them up a few more feet, I ran back down the hill were BF and friend were and told them we found a rattler, they came up and killed it, we decided that was enough excitement for the day and rode back to the house they way we had just came, the snake was only 1 1/2 ft long, the rattle had 7 beads o it, when my camera charges I will take pics of the rattle for ya all, this is the first rattler that has been found on our place in 42yrs, and lucky me had to come up on it...lol
But the horses did great, well a little too good in my book, I wish they would have spooked and let us know it was there, but noooo, JJ just walks right over it!!!
Well that was my day, hope you enjoy the pics!!

more pics comming

for those that dont know TJ is the bay and JJ is the Paint.

Great pics! It sounds like TJ is loving her new American home

That's so scary about the snake!!! I'm so glad we don't have them here.

It looks so dry and brown there! Our grass isn't that colour until like October, maybe end of September.

Great pics.

We used to ahve rattlers where we rode in CO. It was actually a rattler encounter that finally stopped me from riding when I was 8 1/2 months preggers - we thought at that time in my pregnancy it wasn;t worth the risk anymore. My mare didn;t spook at all - but you never know.

I think that horses that live in larger pastures in some areas don;t spook at snakes becuase they judt see them so much.
