Picking up new Thoroughbred Stallion

probably next weekend, just arranging logistics.

He's a 19 year old son of Clever Trick. I can't wait to go get him! He will be standing in Seguin TX until his retirement. He's 100% healthy and sound, and is very virile.

I am hoping to breed him to my TB mare and maybe get a colt to the track. I've been told she has the bloodlines to do it, and with his, we just may have a match!

Either way, he's gorgeous. Not sure what hi stud fee will be yet, but he's only ever done liver cover, so no AI.

Just a quick note, the Jockey Club does not allow AI. All registered Thoroughbred foals must be from a live cover breeding, no AI, no embryo transfer, etc.

You can breed them if you want, but they are only eligible for registration with the PHR (Performance Horse Registry) which is for half-Thoroughbreds, even if they are completely pure.

absolutely true for Jockey Club registered TB's, however, many TB stallions are crossed on Quarters for Appendix Quarter Horses, Paints and Arabs. Those other registries do allow AI, as well as Welsh Pony.

For TB's if they want registration papers it always has to be live cover.
