picking hooves?

I was just wondering do all of you pick your horses hooves out EVERY single day? Even in the mud and rain and snow? Just curious?

Can't say that I do. I do every time I ride and if it's been super muddy and I can't ride I pick them out at dinner and treat them for thrush, since they stand around in the mud, but mostly we just have lots of soft dry sand in the pasture which doesn't get caked in their hooves.

Honestly, I never pick Star's hooves out. They're never packed with anything. I check them to make sure nothing lodged in there though.

Nope. I pick them out after riding but that's about it. I check them almost every day to make sure they are in good condition and nothing is stuck in them. My horses are barefoot and their hooves are good at self cleaning. There is hardly ever anything packed in them; even in the snow.

in the summer i do before i ride, and i get the snow out. but if it muddy i will scrape the mud off the outside of the hoof but thats it. after im done riding i pick them out because our arena dirt gets stuck in the hooves really easily since its like wood shavings or something like that.
