picking a stallion?

i have decided that breeding next year is definatly going ahead. it will be first one i will have ever done although second for tilly.

i had critisism on the forum about my decision to breed, these being that i dont know the breed of my mare and i would be better to buy one. however i can register a cross breed and there is no issue here with horse population. i have done my research and thought it through and if i dont do it now i may never have the chance.

what do people think to the possible sire? they are all registered welsh sec D, mainly choosing larger ones for a larger foal. with a reg sec D a foal can be registered as welsh part bred which are much desired in uk.
for those who dont know, tilly is a 14.2hh dark bay mare who i susspect is welsh D herself but cannot prove it. she is 12 year old (will be 13 when i breed and 14 when she foals, not too old i hope but i will be in touch with a vet throughout) and she had a foal wothout problems when she was 6 years.

enough writing, heres some links.

http://www.danawaystud.com/atstud.htm (flashjack)
http://www.stallionsonline.co.uk/stallion_9731.html
will add more later. any other ideas add link, cant decide.

also for any colour experts. anyone know how to get a different colour exept bay from my dark bay mare?

I know nothing about the breed, so have no idea about bloodlines and such... just going by looks.

Like the first one... color possibilities are gonna be just bay, black and chestnut

I didn't like the second one...

I like Flashjack. With him you have a good chance of getting a buckskin. Also bay, palomino, chestnut, smokey black and black

I also liked Danaway Tango on that page

Like the last one... same color possibilities as Flashjack

Hello fellow-UK'er!! Nebo is a good Welsh D line, popular and often very successful in the show ring. You are most likely to get a bay with a lot of colour stallions, although if you can find a cremello section D you have most chance of getting a dun, closely followed by palomino, then bay after that. If you do locate a cremello, let me know

edit to add: just seen Nebo Thomas has Nebo Black Magic in his lines - nice!

Actually, that's extremely incorrect You would have the highest likelihood of buckskin or palomino, with a slight chance of smokey black. Those are the ONLY possibilities with this cross No dun, no bay at all.

we dont really refer to buckskin here, they tend to all get called dun, so we probably mean the same thing. i was just going by what colour calculator worked out when i was looking into breeding my mare, maybe it's different because she ia bay and white rather than just bay. I apologise if I'm wrong - I'm still learning,

Oh okay! That makes more sense No worries at all. But just so you know, a cremello can NEVER produce a bay. It will always pass on one copy of the dilute/creme gene, so it will make any bay it produces a buckskin/dun
