If I breed Velvet to this guy and keep the foal, Velvet will be 17 by the time I break the baby to ride at 4 years old. Velvet might not want to be my all around horse as much by then. I don't think I would be ready to retire her totally yet, but Loren would be 8 and he could take over riding Velvet by then, unless he has his own string fo horses!!

Personally I think he is..............really really really really prettty!

I like black horses though sooo...you know i think they are all pretty.

I really like his head though. Its not too big and not to little. I like his back as well.....I would def. say gooooooooooooooooooo for it!!!!

Well, he is not perfect, but maybe he is just right for a baby out of velvet for me to have fun with.

Breeding a draft to an arabian does not sound like a good pleasure horse cross to me. The pictures i keep coming up with in my mind do not make for a nice foal between him and velvet, Not because either of them are "bad" horses but because i dont think they would compliment each other at all. I can understand why he does not have many purebred percheron babies as he isnt a very good representative of the breed type-wise and personally i have a real problem with the lack of power in his back end. If i were you i would look at a cob-type draft rather than a perch type for velvet - maybe here is the chance to get that gypsey vanner you always wanted.

Ouch! Poor Velvet! LOL...can you imagine BIRTHING that foal?! He's cute...I think I agree with everyone saying he'd make a fantastic gelding. However, I don't think the pics do him justice. He may look a lot different fitted up and cleaned up. You've seem him personally, so I'd say you are a better judge then we are
