Here are Velvet's 2 kids. CJ is a 5 y/o half Andalusian Gelding and Cleo is a 4 y/o half Andalusian filly. CJ has a short mane.

I do not care for his hip and croup at all since I prefer a much more muscled and rounded croup. I like hips and croups like these and think these Percheron stallions are more balanced and well proportioned: ![]() ![]() ...but remember that is just my opinion based on my preferences.

I can't really see the differance in his rump compaired to the ones you posted Sandra. He looks in proportion to me. I am not that good at confo though. I can't seem to see it.

In my opinion, having several friends that breed and show Percherons for a living if you were looking to breed him to another Perch for a pure bred, I wouldn't. He isn't what the current "standard" or trend is. However, since you would be crossing him with an Arabian, you could probably get away with it. He sounds quite talented. There's just something about him that I can't put my finger on...not sure what though. Like I said though, this is just my opinion. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

IF I were to breed Velvet to this guy, I would be keeping for foal, or planning to anyway. The foal would be a hunter hack and trail horse. Maybe local shows over low fences. I am not into serious competition (Although I would like to be!!) so if the foal kept a good personality and was easy to train, I would keep it.
