Talking Penny Having Some Fun

Penny had a (mostly) playday instead of work. She got to run in the HUGE arena where I board.

I'm a bit disappointed on how poorly they upload. On my comp, they look great, but here - bleh.

She is 43 days along in her pregnancy. I think she's showing.

She could so be a dressage horse - just look at that passage!

Her facial expressions crack me up.

I love this one, except the jumps and water tower.

That's better, but not as much action.

My little hunter.

I love the way the sunlight hits her here.

Yay! Suspension!

I love the trees when they start turning.

Me trying to be artsy. I needed to be closer to the fence.

What a silly.

I think she's cute & trotty here. Too bad nickers don't show up in pics.

Tired Penny.

And here is your parting picture and my fav from this set. The mane looks so cool. And then you notice her meager forelock.

After the photoshoot, we worked with some ground work on the (very slack) lead. She now turns either way just by watching my body language. I just hope that I can get this to translate with no halter eventually.

Go Penny go!

Looking good! Nah, she's not showing... she just knows that being pregnant is an excuse to stop sucking in her stomach for the camera.

Thanks everybody!

Jenje - I was most definately being sarcastic with that. Just I was over my picture limit, so the smileys had to go.

Close, only 287 days! Ish! Because horses don't read books.

I'm actually thinking about it seriously. Right now her topline is severly lacking since we didn't want to mess anything up with her taking & keeping the baby. For the first month of pregnancy, all she got was hand walking and turn-outs. Now were are concentrating on groundwork, including manners on the lead & sidereins. In about another two weeks time, I get to ride her again with only minimal jumping (2'6" max & sparingly, which isn't too much for this girl). So, we get to play dressage.

Keenridge is literally next door, but I hear Hilda Gurney is a bit of a witch. So I may just play with the dressage arena where I am with some lessons from a friend of the family who happens to be a dressage trainer. She is actually the one who first developed in genious plan of breeding my girl.

I had dinner once with her! My trainer did a clinic with her at EquinAffair, and she was a totally witch!

But she is a really good instructor too!
