Pedigree of horse I'm looking at

This is the pedigree on the little QH I am looking at buying. Tell me what you think/ know about it. Thanks!
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/little+scruples
(He's not registered yet, so that's not his real name, but I wanted to put a pedigree together on him. Also, after Sky Jet Bar + Kara Bar Sue on the very bottom, I'm not 100% sure - I just went with what the allbreedpedigree gave me. I will check his mama's papers asap and get them to change it if that's not right. Everything else is correct, though!)

Of course, Impressive and Three Bars are good *to me*. I don't have a problem with Impressive blood like some people do here. I recognize the name Goldseeker Bars, but can't recall where or why. What are your intentions with this horse?

Doublebarr can probably give you some more insight on this pedigree.

Thank you. Goldseeker Bars was an AQHA Supreme Champion, the only Supreme Champ to sire another one. I am glad to hear you say you have no problem with Impressive. I myself have worked with a number of Impressive bred horses and have found them to be generally laid back - one was HYPP N/H, and as long as her diet was regulated, it never affected her. I am currently just starting the horse. He has a nice flat movement and a naturally level topline. I don't think horsemanship would be out of the question for him. He is very cowy, though, so I wouldn't necessarily expect him to be a champion at it.

I have an Impressive bred mare who has done some WP (before I got her) and could probably do some halter if she was fitted. Not really any cowy lines up close so I don't know about the true ability, but probably is an athletic horse, so maybe showmanship or WP.

Yes, that is certainly what I am leaning toward. You are right - he does not have cowy lines whatsoever, but he does look very cowy - maybe ranchy is a better word. He's not tall at all - only 14.2, although I do expect him to grow a tad.

he has very pretty paperwork! I like the Impressive and the Three Bars (my horse also has Three Bars) as it shows that someone really took care to breed a nice horse. He looks really nice on paper

Thanks so much. I am intent on registering him, as I don't think good lines and conformation should be put to waste. If I am not the one to buy him, there is no telling where he'll end up, since he's not broke to ride yet. I would just hate to see him go to waste in someone's pasture who will never ride him.

Just for the record, our family has 3 Impressive bred foundation horses that are wonderfuly cowy horses. Two of which are currently being used as our Ranch work horses, so Impressive does not automatically mean WP only. Of course they also have a lot of old line cow horses in their ped. too.

In your guys ped. I found Bert, Oklaholma Star, Harmon Baker, Peppy, Waggner horses and a lot more cowy lines back there. He does have a very strong Three Bars influcence all the way through, but the cow is obviously there. Without looking at him, I really cant say much about what he is built for, but with those lines, the foundation is there to do well at cow work, too.

Okay, great! Thanks for looking. I will certainly keep that in mind. I appreciate all these opinions on his pedigree, because even though I have done my research, I am pretty new to Quarter Horses. I only switched to Western riding just recently after having ridden huntseat since I was 8 years old
