At that age, I would not be concerned with pedigrees. What are you looking to do with them?

I am curious. I am still trying to learn pedigrees and the easiest way for me to learn them is individually. Dunno my plans for them yet, still evaluating my situation to see if I can take care of them. If I cant, I know a few people who may be able to.

The TB mare has been a broodmare, she is a little thin right now but she could be back in no time. Her last foal was 2 years ago, other wise the 2 QH would basically be retired.

Three Bars and Native Dancer are the only two names I recognized, but then again I'm not a QH/TB person.

Have any of these horses been vetted? Personally unless you have a ton of money to spend I would pass.

If you are learning about pedigrees, the following horses are ones to take interest in: Nasrullah, Three Bars, and Truly Truckle.

Yea I know what you mean, the more I look at it the more I looking to pass. At least the owner was going to put them down instead of sending to auction! I am glad for that.

Well, the TB Mare's sire definately is nothing to sneeze at. There are way more important horses than the few mentioned. It all depend on what they were breeding for. The mare's sire is Exceller

(USA)

33-15-5-6, $1,674,587.
Won: Prix Royal-Oak-French St. Leger-G1, Grand Prix de Paris-G1,Coronation Cup-G1, US Jockey Club Gold Cup, Hollywood Gold Cup.
Inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in 1999. Exceller is the only horse to ever beat two Triple Crown winners. He died in a Swedish slaughterhouse April 7, 1997 when his owner decided it wasn\'t worth paying to support him. He had no health problems and could even have stood a few more seasons at stud. The Exceller Fund, a charity that finds new homes for Ex-Racehorses has been named in honor of Exceller.

She has no registered TB offspring, and 4 registered appendix foals. Two were by Tippy's Canoe, but her last colt was by The Last Captive in 2005.

17 is definately not "old" for a horse that has been taken care of. Use your mind and your gut and you will figure out the right thing to do.
