Professional Choice No turn bells - Opinions? Is it worth the money to get some? I've seen some on some horses and I like the fit/strength of them from what I've seen - but long term wear, how do they hold up? Do they end up with grit up on the inside in the hollow of the heels trapped there? I've got good ole' rubber velcro up bell boots that are starting to fall apart they are that old - I only want them for xc/pace work just incase turbo ever decides to put the stud's through his heel again

I will have to check the brand that I am using right now, I think its an off brand, but its the pvc no turn kind and I like them okay. I don't notice big globs of dirt under neith them, but dirt defenantly gets under them. But they have held up really well and Rocket is a hard hitter (hard enough to almost take his heel off which is why I got them |

I work at a tack store and we sell a lot of them. They hold up really well, and Pro Choice has a great warranty. Did you end up getting a pair of these? I think they would work pretty well for paces and x country. I know a lot of people I ride with don't like them just because they are a "western" item, but they do work really well for over reaching from everything I have read and been told. I don't think there would be a lot of grit and sand build up. I school with my Pro Choice SMB boots, and I find there is a bit of sand stuck in them at the end of the day, but it washes out nicely, and I havent found that it has caused any irritation. I think the material inside the bells (like the SMB boots) might be somewhat prone to attracing sand, more so than a rubber bell anyhow. Hope that helps. |

Love them as long as they're the ballistic ones. The only wear mine have after 3 years is the binding at the bottom and a bit of fraying on the velcro. I keep wishing they'd fall apart or something so I could get a new pair that match my boots.
