i wonder if she may be more of a bay with flexan (cant spell it, that where theres a big mix of colourse silver/brown/block...) mane and tail. i know one that was like that with silver/brown/black mane and tail until he was about 5. now its gone dark.

Yes, its an illusion on her legs. She is silver/tan(baby hair), Ibeleive its turning black. Tan to silver and then silver to black. She shows a distinctive hind left sock. Doodle is going to get her first Spring rain today it looks like. We'll see when she looks like in July/August.

Yes, for sure.

I am curious? Is it normal for my little Doodle's white hoof to turn black? Because now she has all four black. Only the very rim of her hoof is left white (about 3cm). She's got red/frosty black mane coming too! Its beautiful colors on her! I hope she keeps that part.

So what about the hoof change? Seemed odd to me.

Not all hooves are or stay the same color did she scrape or hit on something? My girlfriends grey gelding has three black hooves and one 1/2 and 1/2 white and black. Front /hind feet of foal are identical as far as shape but as get older they'll change shape. Have to pay attention to feet when young there very sensitive if on hard ground allthe time or on soft ground they'll either wear down too quick or not enough. Keep eye on it.

I wanna scoop him up and xoxoxox till tomorrow. The hooves look great in shape and good angle I would not worry as long as not showing signs of being sore then ur ok. Thanks for pics. Keep in touch.

I wonder if her mane will look like my filly's?

Sorry not good pictures but you can see the lighter brown hairs mixed in it. That is natural- not from the sun. Her tail is black, flaxen, and light brown.

Thats what it looks like for right now. A mixture of colors as your filly. I think Doodle will look alot like your filly if she doesnt change to much more. Cute!

Thanks, there is more pictures in my gallery that might show off her coloring better, I just don't have time to sort through them. Go take a look if you want .

She probably lost her "slippers". They have like a covering over their feet when they are in utero to provent their feet from hurting the mare. I think they are always white. They come off within a few days I think. Her hooves should all be black except thwere there is a white marking above the hoof. So her only white foot should be her left hind. Will you have her trimmed next time the farrier comes for Yankee?
