I love Doodle, she is soo sweet looking. I agree, I know without a doubt that she is gonna be one heck of a pocket pony!

I agree and agree. lol. No betting here, hay is to expensive and not enough here either. We are paying 16.25 a bale. Our pasture is almost ready but we are gonna let it grow a bit more before we start letting them (the other two) out to forage (slowly). We have to introduce slowly cause our horses could be half pig.

Doodle started running today. ALl over. She even put on the brakes to hard and slid down on her butt/side and went for a short tred otop the ground. She is fast. I cant beleive how fast she can run...lol.

Chickens, dogs, her mom, the kids... basically anything that moves she has to play with and that's how she plays. She was running the fence line doing roll back this morning and sliding with her booty about 6 in off the ground. What a hoot she is

Well, I never thought there would be a day I could wrap my arms around a horses bum and around the chest at the same time to give a big hug and kiss. Also I never thought a horse/foal could be so sweet and gentle.

Doodle was introduced to a brush today and got a good rub down with it from ear to hoof. I think she liked it. She loves to play hide n seek around Yankee. Its so funny because when I turn around she follows and chews my shirt behind me.

Doodle

She is so cute!!! Keep the pics coming...
It's not going to be easy telling who the father is... are you going to pursue it at all?

2 helpful hints...

When Teak was a baby I handled his feet and his ears A LOT. It's definately paid off... he loves his ears rubbed and he got his first set of shoes the other day and was an angel). I handled Teak a lot as a baby and nothing bothers him now.

Also... don't play with her mouth. Definately the biggest mistake I made with Teak. He's very mouthy now.

Ha ha, too cute! I saw pictures when I opened the main page, and new it was Doodle right away.

I have Minis, lol, so I am ahead of you on the hugging thing, he he. My Pumpkin is more like a little stuffed toy than a real pony, only with a little attitude.

Horses are hams, that is for sure. I am so jealous of you right now!

I rub her nose and body alot. Legs and pick her back and front legs up (for about five seconds). She is really active. Sometimes she doesnt want to be bugged so I leave her alone. I dont want to overwhelm. Not much on the face except the forehead rubbing and underneath, I guess the jaw bone. She loves her under belly rubbed.

Im not sure on the dad. Honestly, the people whom I bought her from that wanted to know the day she dropped on the ground have not emailed or called me back lol. Now we all know that is not a surprize! I first have to see how she looks. I'll probably need help with that. Then combine colors, again I'll need help. And see what she turns out to be over the next year. If it is nothing distinctive I'll probably never know.

So far, she has Yankee calm temper. She looks like she could be built with alot of TB. To me has extremely long legs. I have also noticed other than the white sock, white diamond/star on her forhead, a bit of a white streak on her nose (shown in pic above), her white nostril, her white rimmed chin/lip - she has some white markings under her belly. I know two that should stay. They are dominant like her sock. The other two markings look fading but also look like white streaks (like on her nose).

One thing for sure, I can rule out mule! I think it would be kewl if she keeps that bright copper red color but I doubt it. That would be an awesome looking bay color. As you can see on her neck (in the pic above) she is VERY DARK under that red coat. She has like a shadow going on because of the colors.
