Nothing yet.......she is getting giggly in her but when she walks....lol. She is also getting swayback. A little bit of udder but I dont think she will get alot of milk before foaling. She is/looks/acts like she is so ready. We wait...............until her place is ready. In horse terms she is getting a horse palace........lol.

Thanks for asking

Just an update. We have had milk coming/filling in today and yesterday. She is getting extremely relaxed. I've said this before but you must realize I have never had a mare in foal....so this is relaxed! See the pic below, her butt and hip bones seem to be petruding much much more and very visable from behind. She is calm and becoming extremely large. We have had rain for the last two weeks straight and looking for another week at least. It sucks.

Full body

Hips/Back very bony like and sunken in.

Teats - Day 2 of filling udders.

Body pic. The stools you see on the ground are from just an hour of eating. She is going often.

Changes from 01-21 to today. She is sunken in on the sides of her legs today. Not sure how much more she can go or she'll sink away.... I tried to get the same pic in the same place.

She looks like she's getting close, are you feeding her enough to keep her weight on, as the foal develops? I can't wait to see the foal! Cathy

I think I am feeding her enough. She gets fed like this every day. I personally feed her so I do know this is exactly what goes into her. Please let me know if she needs more.

8AM - A nice flake of alfalfa - approx 5lbs. With a flake of Oats.
4-5 regular flakes of Oats during the day.
And then dinner which is the same as breakfast at 8AM

She also gets a Folgers coffee can of Mare Care (its the generic kind called DMS Mare Care) every other day. Sometimes a day if the kids are giving her treats.

All the water she wants, its a 100 or more gallon trough and is cleaned weekly. She is up to date on worming and shots. She has been eating very healthy since November of 07 when we thought she was pregnant. Before that she was on regular pasture and two flakes a day. She not very built in muscle tone. We are trying to keep her healthy and in as good shape as we can. We got a late start on the foal.

I was wondering if the "where the leg joins the butt on her side" is suppose to be soft and sunken in like her croup area? This is new today.

I highly doubt she is getting all she needs. Would you want to type the info of the feed tag on here? I'm not familiar with Mare Care. I'd be happy to help you with a diet if you PM me.

Mares need alot of protein right now and are getting ready to need a lot of fat also. If you need any help on it I am just a PM away!

Is her milk still the same as the previous picture? If so I'd be she has a way to go...
