Our State Show has Best Lead Line Class..IMO!

I am always amazed at the creativity of the costume lead line classes- but this year the competition was amazing! And it was the little pony that my brother used to own for his children that won the whole thing! At any rate, there are some good ideas in here if any of you ever are looking for some:

    Raggedy Ann and Andy:

Little Roman Soldier and Helen of Troy (maybe?):

John Deere Tractor and the Farmer's Daughter:

Spiderman and whoever the latest villan to spiderman was (lol..not a big spidey fan):

    Much more to come....

And this was the winner! His name was Boots when he belonged to my brother, but has since been renamed Scooby. He was a Breyer Horse.

Wowwzaa! Some cool looking costumes there!! Some of those horses have got to be some of the most laid back animals around to handle some of the get up their in. Thanks for sharing!

Oh I think they were all having fun when the class started - but it is so hot in that arena, no windows, no fans and it takes over an hour for the judges to decide. By the time they call the winner, everyone is ready for it to be over! I was taking pics as they came out of the ring and the racking classes were waiting to go into the ring - so a lot of people took their children off just in case there was a pony spooked by a gaited horse or a gaited horse spooked by a pony in drag....either way could equal mass chaos and catastrophe.

I must not forget to thank the difficult horses, who made my life miserable, but who were better teachers than the well-behaved school horses who raised no problems. -Alois Podhaisky
