What a wonderful story it has turned into. Looks as though she'll never have to be concerned about another home. She and your bf were 'ment to be'.

mftx4, she will stay with us till her dying day. We will not sell her on, no matter what. Currently she is ridable and painfree. If she becomes unrideable but painfree, we will keep her as a "paddock ornament" - I think she deserves that much. When she is no longer healthy and painfree we will have her put down.

Should we be in the situation where we can't afford horses anymore, we will first sell on my horse. He is young, talented, big, being trained for dressage and has no vices or human-inflicted issues. We will be able to find him a good home fairly easily. If we then still can't afford Alibi, we will have her put down. I have seen too many good horses going to bad homes because they are old, can't jump and / or compete anymore or needs a little extra care. This is her last home.

It's wonderful when that 'once in a lifetime' horses come along. I'm not sure how emotional horses are, but from your pictures, she certainly seems to adore your bf. What a beautiful non-fiction book it would make.
Do you ride trails as well as arena work? Just seems she would take him anywhere he would ask. There hasn't been any pictures of you riding with him, is why I ask.

rwinksters, we've had her for almost 10 months now - and to think we thought she wouldn't even survive 3 months!
