Our rescue - 3 weeks later

Awesome work! I just don't understand why anyone would just let a horse go like that. She reminds me of my appendix mare we rescued last april. Thankfully she bonded to me and not my husband though..lol (well I should say me and my son, I think he comes first in her book..lol)

Well she was meant for my BF anyway, so it's good that she's bonded with him.

ad-lib, new season eragrostis
a slice lucern every day
garlic powder, pre-and probiotics, biotin and joint supplement

She is eating HALF of what she got at the previous yard (I know the yard manager was lying about her feed). The veteran feed also helps - easy to chew, it basically melts in het mouth, and NEVER underestimate the power of GOOD QUALITY GRASS.

Update: Another week later (11 weeks in our care):

Getting booties on. How nice and fat is she?

Bum! It's enormous!

Trot! No lameness, stepping well under herself.

Hosing down after all that hard work. Yes, isla couldn't resist her!

Even having lost that bit of conditioning from the grass she was getting....she still looks wonderful
