We bought Splashy! He's settling into his new home--we picked him up yesterday.

That poor darling!! I'm sure she'll be getting the TLC that she deserves now that she's in your care. Best of luck with her, she looks like a doll!!

Thanks everyone, we sure love all of the horses at our place, but some get extra love and care when they come to us in this shape. She's going to probably be a longer road than Cracker was, but we'll get her there.

Dazy, we go to the Round Mountain auction usually the first Saturday of every month. That is where we bought Cracker at. The last 3 months, there have been no thin horses going through there, they weren't getting anything back out of them at the slaughter houses. And now with the new rules, I hate to think where they are going.

However, we always have people contacting us to take in a horse here or there, and we don't always have the room and money to do it. (Let me tell you, for anyone thinking of doing this, it is an expensive propsition. We try to limit ourselves to 1 or 2 rehabs at a time).

If she is serious I'll talk to her and keep in touch with her when we are contacted with others.

Oh Yeah, and No I didn't breed back Splashy's mom, we sent them back to their previous owners, they were just here on "rent".

However, I am expecting some fantastic foals this year! Stay tuned! Qh/Welsh cross that I can't stand the wait!

Thats sick that people actually let that happen to their horse, or any animal! Just think of all the ones who don't get to experience love from good owners. Thats really sad, I'm glad you got her before it was too late. She can now get the love and care that she deserves! Keep it up Lazy F Ponies, your doing a really great thing!

Just a small update on Mickey, she got her front feet trimmed, and they are in pretty bad shape. Because she has no frog right now, you can see her coffin bone, they say it will heal in about 8 months time. She will be sound before then however, and not hurt. We didn't do her backs yet, as she was quivering from the pain of having to steady herself while we did the fronts.

Her jaw is still draining and I am going to go talk to the vet this afternoon and see if he wants me to put her on more antibiotics. She eats great however, so the weight shouldn't be an issue for long!
