Our Newest Addition (Well, Our Two Newest Additions)

Well... I'm a bit late in posting these pictures... Here are our two newest additions to our herd... our mules...My uncle Davids and my grandmother's mules). The baby is named 'Dash'... though my uncle David calls him 'Jack', my uncle Man calls him 'Doodle', and my grandmother calls him 'Jethro'. Since the mule is really my grandmothers, I guess his official name is 'Jethro', though all my cousins and I call his 'Dash'... Lol. Anyway, he's about a month and a half and is pretty wild still... No one really messes with him... I have my own horses to mess with and we actually can't get too close to either him or his mother. His mother's name is Tilda... we've had her for a few months... she was pregnant when we got her.

What adorable donkeys!!! Did you adopt them from the BLM?

It's best to get him used to people now, so when he's older and needs handling he's not wild. He's going to need to be gelded and that requires daily handling and his feet done... Anyways.... good luck with them! I've always wanted one... more like a mini one though.

I love his floppy ear! Was he born like that?

My uncle David bought Tilda and another boy mule from some man he knew... but the boy mule died and about a few months after he bought Tilda, she had Dash.

Yeah, he was born with the floppy ear... I think it's adorable.

The baby's a donkey...

To us out here, though, everything with big ears like that is a mule... Lol.

You better get to handleing him quick, B. Or get David to... You can't even put him in Man's pasture, there's Nightmare and Daydream over there.... Gah!!
