Ok, so I've always been amazed by the sport of jumping, and I use to own an Arab which I would jump every now and then. He loved it so much, and I was thrilled by it. I've never really had 'proper' instuction in jumping a horse, I'm more into just the pleasure style, Western pleasure and English flat work. But, I thought hey why not try it with my new horse Casper. I've had Casper since March, and I've never jumped him before, and quite frankly, I don't think he has ever jumped in his life. But, I thought it was pretty good. I mean, neither me or my horse are jumpers at all, but we just like to do it for fun, so no critiquing me or my horse on that, this is just for fun. And I don't plan on taking jumping as a career or anything too serious. lol Anyways, I've posted some of the pictures of me and Casper jumping. Some look weird because sometimes he was going over at a trot, since the jump was only 1ft, lol. And some of my facial expressions look quite weird, lol. So no making fun of me. You can laugh to yourself though. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

He is a good looking horse. I think he was enjoying it. You didn't fall off and can still smile so life is good. You know you will end up hooked.

I think he jumps safely. He looks nice and relaxed. Thats the key thing. I'd say that if you take is SLOWLY, get a few lessons on your position and are keen, You could easily get him jumping over 3 foot. I had a 14 hand stocky quarter horse that used to hate jumping. Ever since we moved he loved it. I ended up jumping over 1 meter and he was only a 14 hh, 5 year old. He would attempt almost anything. That just goes to show, that if you put your mind to something, eventually your hard work will show. Well done. You should be proud of yourself.
