| Senior Member | OTTB Re-Training Tips N Tricks
I have three OTTB's and would not trade them for the world. I know a lot of other member's on HGS have OTTB's too! Post your tips for retraining your ottb,to help other owners!!! =) Here is one of mine, take your time with them, don't rush things and try not to get mad at them for things they don't know better about. They can be pretty emotional!! =) I also have a question? Does your tb do that "jig?" how did you fix it?

Observe jockeys pulling up after a race. Now when your OTTB gets going too fast or tries to bolt do what they do and whatever you do don't snatch the reins up short (thats the "go" signal) though it is funny to watch the first timers riding their new horse and they think they know it all hehehe. The "jig" moderate rein and soft checks always works for me with time even on the still racing ones unfortunately not immediately before and after a race though.
