OT: Dana Reeve (Christopher's widow) diagnosed with cancer....

i just heard on the news this morning that Dana Reeve has just been diagnosed with lung cancer

I really hope that everything works out for her and her son, and that she will make it through this okay.....

no she's not a smoker but she WAS a singer and they said she could've caught it from singing in smoky places or something like that. So basically they think its a result of second-hand smoke.

I know. I saw that on the news this morning, also. I don't know what her son would do if the cancer took her. Gosh, I sure hope things work out okay.

The new article I read online about this said:

Dr. Scott Swanson, chief of thoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, said that depending on the extent of Reeve's cancer, she would be treated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or a combination.

He said researchers have noted an increase in lung cancer in nonsmoking women under age 51 and are trying to find the cause.

I really hope she gets the miracle she so deserves!
She seems to be keeping a positive attitude and hopefully this got caught early enough so the prognosis will good!
