Orphan Rabbits, help please?

Well my dog dug up a nest. Had the babies scattered. I was outside with the calf not paying attention to what Muffy was doing until I heard one of the babies hollering (the one she had in her mouth.) I gathered the babies up and looked around the area for the nest and couldnt find it. Here's a picture of them. They are so adorable. My mom's friend said to use the KMR stuff for orphan kittens. That is what he used for a few orphan rabbits that he had.

Any advice would be appreciated. The babies dont have their eyes open yet. Is there anyway to tell approx age of these guys?

wild rabbits are very difficult to raise and could be heartbreaking. I do recommend you try and find a wildlife rehab place near by.

Hope you have a better experience than mine. My cat brought one up and left it by the door. It appeared to be fine and the vet said to give it the milk for baby orphan kitties. He also said it was extremely hard to raise wild rabbit babies. He (Thumper) was doing so well and growing, then I got up one morning and the little fellow had passed away during the night. I hadn't realized how attached I had become to him. Good luck.

One thing I want to tell you about bunnies...is that they have a special ability to actually become frightened to death. Their little hearts give out when they are too stressed....

If you do happen to lose them, don't blame yourself ok?

I know that you will try everything in your power to do what they need...best of luck for your little bunny babies.

I know that they need to be fed every 3 to 4 hours, I cant remember how much or how long. It is alot of work and hard too. And because they already had mommas milk they might not like the formula. Perserverance and Patience are the key.

I'd try to find a wildlife rehab, as suggested by Top Dun. We've tried to raise a few baby bunnies (wild) and none made it. They are hard to raise and keep alive. We just picked up milk/formula from out vet (I don't remember what kind it was)...we'd keep them alive for a few days...but none made it past that.
I hope you have better luck and/or can find a rehab center for them. Best wishes!

Out of all the orphans i have had wild bunnies were the hardest ones to keep alive i think ive saved maybe 2 outta all the ones ive tried so now i take them to the wildlife center and let them take care of them as they have more knowledge about them.

ETA: Baby cottontails are born without fur but develop a full coat in a week. Their eyes open in 10 days, and in three to four weeks they are weaned.
