Post Ordering and storing feed

Well,
Again, after reading about the thread on beet pulp I've been wondering if there's a better way to store feed.
The hay and shavings are in a double shed type thing (it's like huge garage but there's a wall in the middle and on one side there's shavings and the other there is hay) and I'm a bit worried that they get no ventilation. Mind you, it's dry so I don't think it'll combust but still. How much do you guys usually order and how do you store it? Also, would it be practical to buy the sweet feed/oats and the grains in bulk (Like a barrel) and then just store them? I've never had any problems but I can't help wondering if they'll spoil or something

about the sweetfeed/oats - i think there is a point where buying too much in advance is a bad thing because it CAN spoil....but i'm not sure about like how long it can sit around, etc...

Like most foods (horse feed, dog food, cat food) the longer it sits, the less nutrients it will contain. The shelf life of a bag of dog food is only 2-3 months. (That is including the time it's at the store.) So you should never buy more than your dog will eat in a month. I would imagine horse feed has an even shorter shelf life.
